When Kaiser wanted to send a 90-year-old woman home alone weeks after hip surgery, her son had ChatGPT draft the discharge appeal. The appeal was approved and she got more time in rehab.
What they built
He asked ChatGPT to write the exact wording of the online discharge appeal, using terms such as "risk of rehospitalization" that the external third-party reviewer would look for. For a threatened second discharge, he fed all of the insurer's paperwork into ChatGPT to prepare an even stronger follow-up appeal.
The result
Self-reported: the discharge appeal was approved and his mother got more time in care.
